SUPERVISED PRACTICE

 

What are they?

Tutored internships are programmed training courses for the recognition in Spain of specialist qualifications in Health Sciences obtained in non-EU Member States.

Who can apply?

Those foreign specialists who are qualified to practise any of the specialities listed in Annex I of Royal Decree 183/2008, of 8 February, which determines and classifies the specialities in Health Sciences and develops certain aspects of the specialised health training system.

What are the necessary requirements

a) Be in possession of the Spanish qualification or, where applicable, of the resolution of homologation or recognition of the foreign qualification required in Spain for access to the specialised training corresponding to the specialist qualification for which professional recognition is sought. 
b) Hold a foreign specialist qualification which has official status in the country in which it was obtained and which qualifies in that country for the professional practice of the speciality. 
c) That the specialist training leading to the award of the foreign qualification in question has been carried out in a university centre, a teaching hospital or, where appropriate, a health centre accredited for that purpose. 
d) Provide detailed evidence of the specialist training completed by the interested party in order to obtain the foreign specialist qualification, its duration and the time devoted to it. 
e) Provide evidence of sufficient knowledge of the Spanish language. 
f) That the applicant is not disqualified by a court ruling or final administrative sanction from practising the speciality in question.
     g) The interested party who has already applied for recognition of the professional effects of a foreign specialist qualification, in accordance with this Royal Decree, and has obtained an unfavourable decision, may not reapply for recognition of the said qualification until at least two years have elapsed from the date of the said decision.
